Sev and Lily. chapter 9

Lily was down first, she sat down at the nice fireplace and waited for Severus to come.

It was taken for ages before he came down.

"Sev, what happened to you?"

"Where are you talking about?"

"look in the mirror silly." Lily said teasingly.

Severus looked into the mirror and saw it now too. "Omg, what is this Lily?" "I've now idea, lets go to Madam Pomfrey."

"Madam Pomfrey?" Lily started of carefully. At her first attempt there was no response, so she decided to say it a little louder this time.

"Madam Pomfrey!" After the second time calling for her, they heard footsteps, coming from the back corridor of the hospital wing.

"Who is calling?" 

"I did Lily replied." 

"Oh, what's wrong?"

"Could, you please look at Severus? he doesn't looks so good, and we don't know what it is."

"Sure, let him take place on this empty bed."

Severus sat down on the bed that was pointed to him.

Moments later, Madam Pomfrey came back with some stuff to check up on him.

Madam Pomfrey asked all sort of questions.

"Where have you been last night?"

"In bed Severus replied."

"No, before that."

"He looked at Lily and she shrugged." As of saying I don't know if we should tell her.

At that moment Professor Dumbledore came in and he said in a whisper to Severus, it's safe to tell her. She won't tell anyone. Then

Professor Dumbledore whispered the same in Lily's ear.  Lily nodded towards Severus. "Okay, you can tell her Lily said.

Well, we've been to the Shrieking Shack, to celebrate Valentines day. Yesterday, we officially became a couple.

"congratulations."

How did you get to the Shrieking shack?

"A secret passage way." Severus replied.

"What has that to do with me?" he asked curiously.

"Well, I've to know if there were plants growing, how you got there. but seem there are only tree roots in that passage way, it can't be that."

have you been somewhere else before that time?

Severus nodded.

"I got rose petals for my artwork for Lily's Valentines day gift, near the black lake. But I don't recall seeing any mysterious plants there.

Did, you had to go through a bush? Madam Pomfrey asked.

Yes, I had to. Severus replied. and he started to itch at his face.

"Then I know what it is."

What is it? they both asked eagerly.

It's poison oak.

It is what? "poison oak." 

"poison oak, is a plant that gives you skin irritation and rash. But luckily there is an easy treatment for that."

She gave Severus a tiny bottle of "poison oak away", and told him the instructions. Ones every hour he had to put a drop of it on his face and spread it out." For how many days do I need to do this? Severus asked.

"Until it is gone." Madam Pomfrey replied. "It should be gone in a few days. she added quickly. 

"thanks, Madam Pomfrey for your excellent help." You're welcome my dears. "Of you go to class now."

At that moment, Severus and Lily's stomach gave an enormous rumble. "Oh dear, you both should eat something before you go to class."

They looked ashamed of themselves. "Don't be ashamed of that sound, we all have that sometimes." Professor Dumbledore said.

An other big rumble was heard at that moment and they started laughing about that sound.

"That's better." 

"I've taken the opportunity to take some breakfast upstairs, so that you can eat in piece and quietly."

"Thanks, professor Dumbledore." Lily and Severus replied.

"See you soon."

"See you soon, Professor Dumbledore."

Before they left the hospital wing Severus applied the potion to his face and spread it out well as instructed.

Lily and Severus ate their breakfast in a relaxed way.

When they had finished, they were 30 minutes late for class.

But when they entered Transfiguration, no-one looked up at the sound of the door or when they took their seats.

It was like someone had gone there before them to warn that they would be late.

They got their books out of their bags and lay it down on the table. Professor MCGonnagal, came over to their table and said page 69, that's where we are now. "thanks Professor."

Lily and Severus opened their books. They found out that they were to transform teacups into animals.

"Oh dear, this sounds so difficult to do. Lily said, while reading the instructions.

Severus nodded in agreement.

Professor MCGonnagal past them again and whispered; I know both of you can do it before the end of the lesson, you're both really smart.

You just need to start believing in yourself. she said encouraging them.

Lily knew Professor MCgonnagal was right.

"She said audible enough so that only the Professor and severus could hear; "You're right professor."

She smiled at her and patted her on the back.

Severus are you alright? She asked in a whisper.

He nodded. Are you sure? he nodded again.

You don't look so good, I know about the poison oak. Professor MCGonagal said.

But I'm not sure if it is the right medicine for you, she told him quietly. 

The professor waved her wand to transfigure their teacup in a tiny mirror.

Oh dear, the two of them gasped. 

Professor what times is it? Lily asked. Lesson ends in 10 minutes.

Is it okay, if I go with Severus at the end of the lesson to the hospital wing?

"Of course it is, I'll let the other Professor know you'll be late for class."

"thanks, professor." Lily said.

Up to the hospital wing again. Madam Pomfrey, was already waiting for them this time.

"H, h, how did you know? Lily asked. Professor MCGonnagal send an owl.

Oh, okay. Madam Pomfrey asked are you allergic to something Severus?

"No, not that I'm aware of."

Madam Pomfrey tested some things on him and found out he was allergic to beetroot.

"I'm afraid that you're allergic to beetroot Severus." 

Madam Pomfrey checked the label of the potion, but it wasn't in there.

What did you eat this morning Severus?

Just a sandwich with cucumber and cheese my favourite.

"I didn't see anything funny about the bread this morning." Did you Lily? he asked.

She shook her head. 

What did we eat last night? "I don't remember, but I'm pretty certain it wasn't beetroot."

"Because ever since we were kids, we never liked it, so we didn't have to eat it from our families." Lily added.

The only thing I can think of a tiny drop must have sat onto something. It doesn't matter where it was on, but the incubation time is different per person.

madam Pomfrey said. "Aww well, just be careful to check what eat you next time. And drink this you'll feel better.

Severus drunk the cup of antidote for beetroot. He indeed felt a lot better after that.

By this time it was 45 minutes later. They had to walk down to potions, and when they arrived the first hour had past. 

They had to make a difficult potion, but seem they were too late to start on their potion. Professor Slughorn made them write and essay instead.

Which they had to hand in the next day. Luckily it only had to be four pages long. So at night they wrote their essay about "Liquid luck".

The next morning their classes started with potions. Both handed in their essay about "liquid luck". The professor gave them excellent marks.

Two hours later they also made a great looking potion of liquid luck.

Their next lesson was "Defence Against The Dark Arts". Both of them did great. Two hours later it was time for lunch.

Severus applied his potion for poison oak again at the end of this lesson. It already has disappeared for a great deal.

They expected it wouldn't take too long before everything was gone.

Two days later Severus was healed of his poison oak. He and lily went out to the black lake and were really careful not to touch any plants they didn't know. They sat down under the tree in the very first start of a sunny afternoon. They made their homework for: Potions, Care Of Magical Creatures and Transfiguration. The afternoon had come to an end and they had to go back to the castle. 

Night was fallen slowly, they only entered the entrance hall just in time before it got locked. 

The smell of delicious food was drifting from the great hall towards them. They headed to the great hall and sat down on their table and ate a lot of different things. and made sure they didn't eat any beetroot.

Instead they ate: Pumpkin soup, carrots with sweet potatoes, and as dessert a cream pie.
